Togo was a famous commander who annihilated the Russian Baltic Fleet as Commander-in-Chief of the Combined Fleet. The “Crossing the T” naval warfare tactic used by Togo was later referred to as the “Togo Turn.” The ship that he commanded is preserved within Mikasa Park as the Memorial Ship MIKASA and is open to tour.
