Yokosuka Museum of Modern Ruins Tibodie House
The Tibodie House is the official residence of Tibodie, the deputy chief of the Yokosuka Ironworks. It was built around 1869 (Meiji 2) and was the oldest Western-style building in Honshu until the time of its dismantling in 2003 (Heisei 15).
In this museum, in addition to the actual exhibition of the relocated hut structure, the history of Yokosuka Ironworks, which became the foundation of modernization in Japan, is exhibited.
It also serves as a base for the Route Museum, and distributes easy-to-carry pamphlets for Miura and satellite cards made with beautiful photographs for free.
