Buildings of Uwamachi
Many stores along the prefectural road that runs through Uwamachi features billboard architecture and dashigeta architecture. They serve as a vivid reminder of the prewar Showa period (1926-1945) townscape. Some of these historic buildings are still being used by businesses today, and visitors can view the architecture while shopping around the Uwamachi area.
