Yokosuka Modern Heritage Museum Thibaudier Residence
The Thibaudier Residence was the official residence for Jules César Claude Thibaudier, the assistant superintendent of the Yokosuka Arsenal. It was constructed around 1869 and was the oldest western building in Honshu until it was disassembled in 2003. This museum features original preserved material from the residence and exhibits showing the development of the Yokosuka Arsenal which laid the foundation for the modernization of Japan.
