It is Temple No. 1 on the pilgrimage among the Miura Peninsula\u2019s sacred spots. Every year, many people visit the temple to observe the Buddhist holiday, Hatsufudo, held on January 28. When Commodore Perry\u2019s Black Ships arrived in 1853, a crowd of curious people gathered at the summit of Mt.
